プロパガンダ： 日本とインドネシア対米国 第二次世界大戦 第一部 - YouTube

今日は興味深かい日です。修正主義の「歴史家たち」が、あたかも連合軍が日本の支配からアジアを救ったかのような話を披露していました。

実際はその反対です：日本は西洋の悪の支配からアジアを救った（あるいは再び自ら動けるようにした）のです。中国は次の時代の問題ある帝国ですが、、、話が脇にそれるのでやめておきます。

It is interesting today that revisionist 'historians' have painted a picture that the allies freed Asia from the evil clutches of Japan.
In fact, it's opposite: Japan freed (or got the ball rolling) Asia from the evil clutches of western empires. China is the next problem empire...but I digress.

Japan only opened in 1854 after the US Navy showed up with true gunboat diplomacy. Western empires were crawling all over Asia. Only Japan and Siam (now Thailand) were spared, though Thailand had to fight the French. Japan helped with that short war. Thailand won.
Japan was forced to become an empire, or be eaten alive. Russia, Britain, France, America, and more, all were growing more powerful each year, and were on the prowl.
Fast forward to WWII -- the Dutch had been in Indonesia for centuries, and had long colonized the islands. They were ruthless. They had oil down there, and the Netherlands was taking it, and embargoed Japan.
Japan had few natural resources. No oil, for instance. No tin. No rubber. We and other allies were strangling Japan to death by embargo.
In a series of quick blows, including Pearl Harbor, Japan finally struck back. They smashed the Dutch down in Indonesia, and took many of them to Thailand and forced them to work on the Death Railway.
After the war, more than 2,000 Soldiers stayed behind in Indonesia to continue the fight for independence. They are hailed as heroes today, and some are buried in the Indonesian "Arlington" National cemetery. A friend and I went there and saw the Japanese graves. Buried right there with Muslims. Muslims do not usually let non-Muslims be buried together with Muslims. But they are heroes.
After the war, the Dutch came back and continued their atrocities and Japanese helped fight back. America finally stepped in told Netherlands to pack its bags and leave Indonesia alone.
So, it's true there, and many other parts of Asia -- Japan is the Mother of Asian independence. America is the Father.
And now Mom and Pop have a big problem: China has grown up and is the next great empire, at this rate.
